Health Care Executives from the East visit to Ladywell
A BIG WELCOME to our visitors from the East to our Motherhouse in Ladywell Convent.
On 1 – 5 October 2017, our Central Leadership Team (CLT) warmly welcomed the Executive Teams from FMDM Health Care Ministries in Singapore and Malaysia to Ladywell for Mission Formation Programme. Ms Jennifer Lum, Director of Finance and Chiew Cheng Fong, Director of Nursing, both from Assisi Hospice Singapore. Dr. Lam Kian Ming, CEO, Shirley Tay, Director of Nursing and Christina Tiong, Director of Clinical Services from Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore. Ms Joan Lim, CEO and Ms Gemma Ong, Director of Finance from Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital, Malaysia.
The purpose of their visit was to:
- To enter more fully into the FMDM global story – our history, our sisters, our missions
- To deepen understanding of how the message of St Francis and St Clare of Assisi shapes our mission today
- To meet and share with our sisters and share the stories of their missionary vocation
- To have time and space to explore, reflect on, and integrate the call to serve in Catholic & FMDM Health Care in Singapore and Malaysia
As it was the Feast of St. Francis, it was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience our liturgical celebration and to attend a funeral service for Sr. Attracta on 5 October. Our visitors were delighted to meet many of our sisters, most of whom have spent years in Missions worldwide. They visited our first Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford and were and were welcomed warmly by the CEO Leon Newth.
They felt enriched by their visit and gained insights through their personal encounters with the sisters.
