Sr. Catherine Joy FMDM – A Life Remembered 1925 – 2015
For someone who has been in our Congregation for over 60 years, there will be many memories. Though born in Midhurst, Sussex, almost 90 years ago, Catherine was brought up in Newcastle upon Tyne and lived there until she entered our Congregation in 1952. She was very proud of being a Geordie and often said that the Geordies were the only people who spoke English properly!
Whilst FMDM Sisters worldwide mourn the loss of Catherine who died peacefully in La Verna at Ladywell Convent on 29 November 2015, we also give thanks to God for Catherine and celebrate her life lived to the fullest as a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood.
We would like to share with you ‘Memories of Sister Catherine Joy’ beautifully shared by Sr. Bernie Ghent FMDM on the day of the Funeral Mass held in Ladywell Convent Chapel and honour her life as a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood.
