Sharing the joys of Christmas at Ladywell
Our Motherhouse in Ladywell Convent Surrey, has an air of festivity as we celebrate Christmas with beautiful decorations and solemn liturgies that speak of the true spirit of Christmas. During the recent days and weeks, we have had the ‘crib building service’ in our chapel and the joys and excitement of the children bringing the items for the crib brought many smiles on the parents and adults. On 21 December, we had the Christmas Carols Service in our chapel and it was a great joy to welcome many visitors, most of whom were our staff and their relatives. This was followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
The Christmas Crib has a particular significance for us as Franciscans, when we recall how our patron saint, Francis of Assisi was so enraptured with the mystery of the Incarnation that he wanted to reenact the nativity scene in a cave in Greccio, Assisi.
FMDM Sisters worldwide send you greetings of PEACE and JOY to families, friends, benefactors and all who visit this page. We wish to share and spread the Joys of Christmas in the article below.
