A LIFE remembered ~ Sister Regina Burke FMDM (1938 – 2016)

Sister Regina Burke died in our Franciscan Convent, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, Ireland on 24th June 2016. The Requiem Mass was celebrated on Monday 27th June in Franciscan Convent, Ballinasloe followed by burial at Creagh Cemetery. May she rest in peace.We honour and pay tribute to this great Franciscan woman of faith and for the gift of her life to our Congregation.

Regina was born 3 January 1938 in Ballymore, Ireland. She joined the FMDM Congregation in 1954 and was missioned to many countries – Zambia, Zimbabwe, England and Ireland.

Sister Regina Burke is sadly missed by FMDM Sisters, family members and her many friends especially in Ballinasloe. She had a wonderful sense of humour, was able to relate to strangers with such great ease and forged many friendships. She was very well known and much loved by many. Regina was always very calm, hospitable and just a wonderful person to be with.
