Sr Bridget – Golden Jubilee celebration in Gaza

Congratulations Bridget 

On 17 December 2017 Sr Bridget Tighe celebrated her Golden  Jubilee of Religious Profession  with her parish community of Gaza. Traditionally the Sunday before Christmas the Patriarch or Bishop of Jerusalem comes to Gaza to anticipate Christmas with a votive Mass of Christmas, nativity play celebrations and a luncheon for the parish community.  Bridget renewed her vows during the Mass after the homily during which Bishop Marcuzzo spoke of the biblical tradition of Jubilee along with his Christmas message to the people of this fragile and vulnerable place.  Congregational Leader, Sr Jane was also there to celebrate with Sr. Bridget.  The staff of the Caritas Office and Ministry in Gaza also came to support and celebrate with Bridget.  They presented her with a special plaque during the luncheon.

On the following Tuesday Bridget joined the other Catholic groups in bringing Christmas greetings to the Acting Patriarch of Jerusalem – Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzabella OF
