First Profession ceremony in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
On Saturday February 22nd 2020, Sisters Balbina Adzizi and Ruth Nthele, made their First Profession as Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood The very joyful, three-hour long ceremony, took place in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Victoria Falls. The main celebrant was Bishop Albert Sernano, Bishop of Hwange Diocese, assisted by Fr Christopher Sibanda, the Parish Priest, Fr Joseph Mawedza, Fr Simelinkosi, and Fr Jabulani Nyoni. Four FMDM sisters travelled from Bulawayo, and seven sisters plus three postulants from Zambia. The parish choir sang their hearts out accompanied by drums and shakers as together we celebrated God’s faithfulness and Ruth and Balbina’s response to God’s call.
After the Mass a reception was held in the parish hall for the sisters and all the parishioners who attended the profession.
Of course this was all before ‘lockdown’ in our countries and now we stay connected by prayer united with our whole world as we journey through these days.
