CONGRATULATIONS to our Golden Jubilarians

On 1st July 2017, over 100 people gathered in Ladywell Convent to celebrate with our four Golden Jubilarians – Sisters Carole, Dorothy, Eileen and Yvonne. We were delighted that families and friends of our Jubilarians together with FMDM Sisters from England, Scotland, Ireland, Africa and Rome were able to join them in the celebration of their Golden Jubilee of Religious Life.

It was a glorious Summer day and this added to the joyful day for everyone. The day began with the Eucharist held in the main chapel and there were four priest celebrants  – Anthony Meredith, David Parmiter, Michael Corcoran and Andrew Mukulu. The Opening Hymn ‘The Servant King’ was sung with great gusto especially the chorus: “This is our God, the Servant King, He calls us now to follow Him, To bring our lives as a daily offering, Of worship to the Servant King”.

It was a very relaxed unhurried day as our Jubilarians spent time with their families and friends. Ladywell Convent hosted a sumptuous meal followed by speeches, cake cutting  and afternoon tea. We thank God for the gift of our sisters to our Congregation and for reaching this Golden milestone of their journey.
