Chinese New Year celebration in Ladywell

Wishing all our sisters from the East a very Happy Chinese (Lunar) New Year 2019 and to their families and friends.
Chinese New Year is the most important and the longest holiday. It begins on the first day of the lunar calendar, also called Spring Festival which lasts for 15 days!  Most families begin preparing a month or more in advance for Chinese New Year.

On 5 February 2019, the sisters in Ladywell Convent celebrated Chinese New Year with a great fanfare. The celebration began with Mass in the chapel followed by lunch cooked specially by our chef.
