A Life Remembered – Sr. Helen Scully FMDM (an Irish Missionary)

Helen Scully

On 27 June 2015, FMDM Sisters worldwide mourned the loss of Sr. Helen Scully and although saddened by the loss of this great woman, we also celebrated Helen’s life through our prayers and Eucharistic Celebration. Her last years of  missionary life was spent in Zambia and her great contribution to the setting up of ‘Little Assisi’ for children who are physically and mentally challenged. Helen spent her final days in Ireland, her home.

To honour Helen, we share with you her life through this short video clip, the Eulogy that was delivered by Sr. Anne Spratt at the Funeral Mass (which was held in the Franciscan Convent Chapel Ballinasloe, Ireland) and an inspirational sharing by Sr. Marie Coyle. Helen was surrounded by many FMDM Sisters from Ireland, England/Scotland, family members and friends who were present at the wake and the Funeral Mass. We thank God for the gift of Helen to our Congregation. May Helen now enjoy the peace of God and rest in peace.
